Pennsylvania AG urges consumers to become educated on green products

Updated: Tuesday, August 4th, 2009

Pointing out where opportunities for future business careers will lie, the Pennsylvania attorney general has urged the state's consumers to shop for energy efficient products and services, but use caution while doing so.

Tom Corbett has stressed that buyers review claims about energy-saving products to ensure the items they purchase offer genuine financial and environmental benefits.

"Consumers are anxious to find ways to conserve energy and save money, but it is [also] important to fully evaluate any product or service to determine which is best for your particular situation," says Corbett.

"It is vital that consumers educate themselves about all of their choices," he adds.

Environmental scientists, especially in the area of green chemistry, engineering and design, are those who will bring to market the next generation of products that America's educated consumers are likely to demand in the future.

To reap the financial rewards of such business careers, those who are considering acquiring new skills or boosting an existing skill set may enroll in one of the many masters of doctoral programs in environmental sciences.

Top salaries for environmental engineers already exceed $106,230, and they can be expected to further increase as more customers turn to genuine energy-saving and green products.
