Proulx Oil and Propane to adopt alternative fuel conversion system
Proulx Oil and Propane has announced it will partner with Alliance AutoGas to bring alternative fuel solutions to public and private vehicle fleets.
The New Hampshire-based fuel company will work with transportation companies across the state to convert their vehicles from conventional gasoline consumption to Propane AutoGas.
Through their partnership, the two companies will develop a chain of vehicle conversions, establish clean fueling stations at fleet home bases and provide a fuel supply year-round.
Transportation companies that provide taxi, law enforcement, municipal, limousine or utility vehicles will also receive safety and operational training for their personnel as well as ongoing technical and safety support from both organizations.
Jim Proulx, president of Proulx Propane and Oil, said his company aims to "reach out to New Hampshire's fleets with the most viable solution to cut their fuel costs and emissions simultaneously, all while using a fuel that's 90% produced in the U.S."
Increased interest in alternative fuel solutions could create job opportunities for individuals who have completed associates, bachelors or masters programs in sustainable management or green power generation.
Prospects for environmental engineers with similar training, whose median annual earnings were $69,940 in May 2006, are expected to grow by 25 percent over the next seven years.
