New website offers business sustainability certification program
A new website allows domestic and international businesses to keep track of sustainability efforts, which may help them adapt to changing environmental requirements.
Greenin7.com provides a platform for small- and medium-sized business to document their environmental initiatives and prove the steps they have taken to become greener.
The website offers documentation and marketing tools, including instruction, template plans, tracking forms and up-to-date information on energy efficiency. Such tools are intended to “lower [a business’s] environmental impact and document [its] earth-friendly practices,” said Greg Parker, founder of the website.
The website may allow businesses to prepare for the future, when “formal regulations…regarding what’s needed for a company to call itself a green business” are implemented, Parker added.
Accredited green MBA programs are a good way to acquire the skills that will be needed to manage the eco-friendly enterprises of the new economy. Another option is to pursue a bachelors or masters program in environmental sciences or sustainable management, as demand for specialists in that field is projected to grow by 25 percent for the next seven years.
